Free speech is the bedrock of democracy and if people don't know what is going on, if they don't know the truth, how can you make an informed decision?
In place of democracy if people are not allowed to speak freely, ask questions, including the hard press, if someone wakes up one evening and threatens freedom of the press, in democracy how then can you make an informed vote?
