The world has changed because of Wikipedia and almost every person with internet access has in one way or another used Wikipedia.
Here is an amazing moment when Nas Daily flew to London just to meet Jimmy Wales and understand why he made Wikipedia free, why he gave away billions of dollars and this is his incredible story
But no matter how big the books were they always had missing information. Jimmy told Nas that every year the physical book Encyclopedia has always been updated with new information and yet still have missing information which to him "is simply not practical"
But 20 years into his life and love for consistent learning, the internet was invented and Jimmy had an idea to work on a project we all know today as Wikipedia where all the world's knowledge on the internet can be listed.
When Nas daily asked him, please what does this Wikipedia mean? According to Jimmy the word "Wiki" is from Hawaiian word wiki wiki which also means quick collaboration and we adapted that concept, to come together and make an online encyclopedia.
Jimmy the founder of Wikipedia decided to make Wikipedia 100% FREE for everyone in the world. Nas Daily jokingly asks Jimmy who does that. And he responded "Me" Jimmy.
He made Wikipedia 100% free for all users around the world, with no more ads, no more monthly subscriptions, no revenue, no profits just free knowledge for everyone.
People from around the world came together to contribute and put all human knowledge on one website, made it a community of learners, fact-checked each other's entries, posts, articles, and together they wrote more than 50 million articles in 300 languages ALL FOR FREE.
The world we live in today changed because of Wikipedia and every single person reading this article online has used Wikipedia, that we owe so much to Wikipedia and the person who started all of this is just a simple guy called Jimmy Wales founder of Wikipedia.
Also, watch the video here on Nas Daily Facebook page, a video documentary that took Nas over a year to make, and is amazing how he shared it with the world. Click Here to join the AfricaChoice all for free.

Since he was a kid, Jimmy told Nas Daily that he loved learning, because of his love for consistent learning, his mum bought him a big physical book named "Collier's Encyclopedia Books" just to read them.

But 20 years into his life and love for consistent learning, the internet was invented and Jimmy had an idea to work on a project we all know today as Wikipedia where all the world's knowledge on the internet can be listed.
Back then, this was a revolutionary idea and he launched the project and called it WIKIPEDIA.

So hence the name Wikipedia
Wikipedia is a "for-profit company" and the idea was to write articles, sell ads, and use the money to pay editors and maybe in the long run make a bit of money, but this is where it gets interested at some point.Jimmy the founder of Wikipedia decided to make Wikipedia 100% FREE for everyone in the world. Nas Daily jokingly asks Jimmy who does that. And he responded "Me" Jimmy.

Jimmy said making Wikipedia free was the best decision he have ever made in life and here is the moment of glory, minutes after he made it free for editors.
